Happy Valentine's Day!

And in honor of this auspicious occasion, might I recommend The Scarlet Pimpernel (a BookSense Valentine's Day 2005 Top Pick)? I must admit, I can't imagine what took me so long to pick up this novel - I wholeheartedly agree with this quote from Janet Rhodes of HearthFire Books in Evergreen, Colorado:

"The French Revolution, a beautiful aristocrat in peril, her supposedly stupid husband--what more could a romantic want? Adventure, history, romance, and swashbuckling make for great February reading."

Indeed!

I just The Deception of the Emerald Ring, and it was hillarious! I thought of you, and was going to ask if you had read any of her stuff.

I haven't read "The Deception of the Emerald Ring" yet, sad to say! I've enjoyed the author notes in the paperback versions of "Pink Carnation" and "Black Tulip" so much that I'm waiting. Sigh. So was "Emerald Ring" as great as the previous two? Does Eloise finally get her man?
